They are too clean and sharp for me, they need some irregular scratches and grungy dirts but sometimes creating some clean and neat "trendwhore" stuff attracts clients
Besides, Mert and I are trendy enough. We've just uploaded a track of our EMO-core band to myspace (the most trendy portal ever!)

...and don't miss the band logo it's trendy enough I think, isn't it?
I, certainly, disagree with your critics, besides, I think that using such a word as "trend whore" reveals your arrogant attitude and points out your intentions to create art as solely "atracting clients".
This piece of art, obviously depicts an ex-engineering student, who devoted his entire life to snowboarding and also gives some clues about his dilemmas and his indecisions. Those arrows, one of which represents a determined and motivated spirit and the other represents a fickle, coward and dishonest character. If you try to look to this artwork again you'll see the ying yang symbol which represents this duality. But I'm sure that you did not even noticed it, definitely, only experienced eyes can see such a detail at a glance and a wise consciousness can make connections.
You should understand the forms beyond the raw images before judging them for their sharpness and cleanness. They need nothing but a equitable evaluation.
I was in a friendly manner about those arrows and other issues. I was just kidding about "trends and graphics design industry" but it seems You've taken it serious and just turned the topic to an intellectual analysis.
At this moment, no need to argue about art, I think. Honestly, I don't really care about What is art? what is art for? Do we need it? If so, Why do we need? what did the artist want to express?
Eventually, Théophile Gautier may be right about "Art for art's sake" slogan but in the other hand I believe the expression, "Fart for client's sake" more than ever.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
